Breast Augmentation with Fat Transfer vs. Implants

Natural Breast Augmentation vs. Breast Implants

Natural breast augmentation is the procedure used to add a person’s own fat to the breast area to increase the size of the breasts more naturally. Breast implants are prosthetics (artificially produced products) inserted in the breasts to alter the look of the breast. It is sometimes done in people who have undergone removal of the breast post-cancer or who have congenitally deformed breasts, but also as a cosmetic enhancement. To help understand the difference between the two, here are some of the comparisons to give you a better idea of breast augmentation vs breast implants.

What are Breast Implants?

Breast implants are used by many people to enhance the shape and/or size of their breasts without any underlying disease. Breast implants are usually one of three types: silicone implants filled with silicon solution, silicone implants filled with saline solution, and other implants with miscellaneous fillers.

What is Natural Breast Augmentation?

Natural breast augmentation is the process of taking a patient’s own fat to use as a “filler” and enhance the size of their breasts. The surgeon removes fat from problem areas of your body to naturally enhance your breasts. The surgeon inserts a small instrument into your problem fat areas and carefully removes the fat. Then, the surgeon uses a small incision to fill the breast area to create a subtle and more nature enhancement. The tissue added to your breasts is indistinguishable from the look and feel of your natural breasts; there is simply no more natural way to enhance your breast size and shape.

Benefits of Natural Breast Augmentation

There are many different benefits to natural breast augmentation versus the surgical enhancement through breast implants. Natural breast augmentation uses your body’s own natural “filler” to increase your breast size, instead of using harsh chemicals and foreign objects to enhance your look. Furthermore, since the procedure uses smaller instruments and smaller incisions, the recovery time is a lot less. The general recovery time for our natural breast augmentation is two to four days instead of weeks with implants. Our patients are generally back to work within only a few days rather than out for weeks.

The only thing patients need to consider is that natural breast augmentation with our office is not for those looking for a considerable increase in breast size. This procedure is only for those looking for a small improvement in breast size. If you are looking for a much larger size, you may want to consider implants as an option.
